What is roland-arranger.com?

The website is made for everyone with a passion for Roland arranger keyboards. The main focus is on the "Roland G-70 Music Workstation" and the "Roland E-80 Music Workstation".

Why did you make this website?

When the Roland G-70 was released in December 2004 it had quite a few bugs. In an attempt to find workarounds for these bugs and to gain more information about the keyboard, I started contacting other G-70 users on the Internet. By April 2005 I wrote so many e-mails to other G-70 users that I had to do something about it... by the end of April 2005 I decided to build a website, which was known as the "Roland G-70 User Club Denmark". The website grow into a huge success with 1.3 million visitors and more than 1.000 registered users during the first two years. By April 2007 roland-arranger.com was released as a replacement for the G-70 User Club website. There were several reasons leading to development of the roland-arranger.com website. What are your goals?

The primary goal is to gather all relevant information regarding Roland arranger keyboards - primarily the flagships of the arranger series - in one single website, which shall be the number one Roland arranger keyboard resource on the Internet.

Project location?

The project is being operated from Denmark, Europe. Moderators from all over the world can be assigned. The website administration is in contact with Roland (exchanging relevant information) and relevant 3rd parties, but the project does not depend upon Roland or any other sponsors. Furthermore, Roland is not deciding which content is published on the website

Who is maintaining the website?

Programmering is done by 3rd party developers and configuration of the website is done by myself, whereas content is written by myself in cooperation with a various number of moderators spread all over the world. Also the user club members (registered users) can contribute writing content using the forum section. In the forum section moderators are assigned to specific board ad hoc. The website is built using the JOOMLA open source framework. This gives me the possibility to have optimal focus on the content of the website rather than being forced to have the primary focus on the technical framework of the website.

Who are you?

I am an active member of the legendary Danish "G-1000 Klubben" which was formed in Denmark in the late 1990's. G-1000 Klubben is the most powerful Roland User Club in Scandinavia (well, probably in the world) - having among others things - been able to influence producers of instruments, files and software for the common best of all Roland enthusiasts.
