Hello, if you expect to create rhythms like and arranger, you will be disappointed. You cannot play any styles. The only thing you can do regarding rhythms is adding drums to the bass and chord, that's about it. I have the newer 8x, but not a 7x. I am not sure what the *.st7 extension file means, if I remember correct you can load sets into the FR-7x and file name ends with *.set. There is an editor available for download at the Roland site: www.roland.com/us/products/fr-7x/downloads/

If you want to play like an arranger, get your hands on a Roland BK7m.

There are some video channels on Youtube which may help. Some of the showcase examples, so they are good getting inspirations, others explain actually how to do things.

It is all about personal taste and the hard will to conquer this machine. I hope this helps.

Perhaps you are thinking of the BK-7m arranger module?

A lot of accordion players use this with their MIDI accordions.

If you don't want styles, but just backing tracks, your FR should be able to play wav/mp3 files, off of a USB stick, right?
