Midi message to select style - Performance - Variations on BK series #412
I acquired a BK-3 recently and search to find a computer interface to avoid digging through all menus. I found BK Partner but it's only for I-Pad. I'm on PC and don't want to invest as much I paid for the BK-3 to get an I-Pad.

I found a very interesting application on the net CTRLR so we can build control panels to drive any MIDI device.

I found most of the MIDI command needed in the MIDI implementation list.

The ones I didn't find are for selecting Styles (rhythm), variations, intro/ending and performances.

I know it can be done because the BK Partner software can do them.

So can you help me to find the MIDI command to do these? :)

Check out the MIDI implementation for the BK-7m. I believe those codes are in there.

Hi Diki,
thanks for the reply. Since the post I also got an answer from Roland Canada. They refer me to the BK5 midi implementation document and user manual.

Except few things the BK5 is quite similar to the BK3 and I found what I was looking for.

Regards

I also have a new section where I have posted my collection of Roland manuals...

I recommend reading the BK-7m manuals, which have a lot more detail in them compared to the others (as the BK-7m could ONLY be operated remotely!).
