Printing out User Programs #6541
Like most people, I have hundreds of user programs for different songs. (E-A7)
Is there anyway to import these into a spreadsheet, so they can be printed out alphabetically ?
Thanks
Dave

To my knowledge, no. The BK series had an iPad editor, and maybe you could take screen shots, and there was a PC 3rd party editor that might have been able to do this, but EA7 software other than the Tone Manager librarian/editor is non-existent, I think.

You probably need to knuckle down and type them in yourself. Do it once and it is done as long as you keep it up to date as you add new entries. Sorry...

Hm. if you connect a computer to the E-A7, are the contents of the memory visible? What if you back them up to a thumb drive, are they visible? If so, there are DOS utilities that can save file directory contents to a text file, etc. Then you open that file in Notepad, Excel, etc., and add the details.

Thanks folks.
I can see the file on a thumb drive, but I can not read it.
I have done as Diki suggested and copied them manually to a spread sheet, (great fun), but it's done now.
Thanks for your help,
Dave

Ted’s idea might be doable in theory...

You might try opening the .UPS file in a hex editor, but it’s likely the titles are buried in a mess of data for the Performances. You could hunt them down and copy and paste, it depends on how organized the file structure is. But I rather doubt it’s going to be laid out nice and neat like a spreadsheet with the titles first...

This might have been doable back in the G/E series days, which had the UPG’s (individual Performances in one folder that the UPS file organized in the arranger) visible, but since the BK series, all the UPG’s are contained in the overall UPS structure out of sight. Not a change for the better, IMHO, but possibly necessary to avoid the complex database problems the old system had.
