No doubt... with the right material, the G70 could always impress..!

Any chance of a remix to back down the overbearing organ stabs? Drums are a bit far back in the mix as well, IMHO.

Nowadays I find myself using audio backing more than SMF's, so the bar got a fair bit higher in the realism department, but with work I can make quite a few SMF's hard to distinguish from real! It's a shame Roland stopped making new arrangers, as the thought of a G70 married to a BK9 OS and the SN stuff available for styles and sequences, and the EA7's multipads and sampler (with much more RAM and content) would have been a serious Korg and Yamaha competitor.

Oh well...

Yeah, that's better!

Just curious, but did you create the SMF or adapt something? TBH, quite a bit of the organ part sounds more like an altered brass section part, especially how the snare seems to double the punches, and the bigband is saxes only, kind of missing the trumpets and trombones. If not, that's a possible remix idea for you as well!

The guitar comping is nice, voicings seem spot on for that! You don't have your Integra7 any longer, do you? I always thought those jazz guitars were the best, I think you posted something using those a while back and they were very convincing. Unfortunately the BK-9's sequencer and styles can't address the SN sounds without some MIDI looping which is a PITA, but with Roland out of the game, I may very well find myself having to go that route soon (or buy a used Integra, and i hate hauling extra gear!).

Would you like to post the SMF of the song to see what I can make of it using the BK9's sounds? That might be a fun project during my offseason...
