Att DIKI - Calling up performances from your list in BK-7M via MIDI #755
Hi Diki (Moderator)
I am working with SetListMaker and BK-7m trying to get BK-7m to change the actual performance when I choose a new song from SetListMaker.

In another thread: www.roland-arranger.com/index.php/music-...midi?limitstart=0#62 - you have answered that it indeed is possible to choose a performance via MIDI when you already have chosen the list.

Could you possible help me with a MIDI tutorial on this? On SetListMaker I have been able to change program within a performance - but I can't figure out how to "MIDI-learn" to SetListMaker how to change a performance?

I know that you possible can't help me with SetListMaker - but a general explanation of MIDI codes or howto would be very helpful. I have also downloaded IPAD app "BK Partner" to try and access the performance list (external from a USB Device in the BK-7M) - but I would rather program SetListMaker to do in when I load my songs.

Are you able to help me here?

(SetListMaker do have a "MIDI-Learn" button but I have tried to activate it - and then choose a performance in the list - but it won't even load this performance. And the "MIDI-Learn" ingests the raw MID HexI code - but nothing happens after that when I activate the "MIDI-learned" steps)

With hope :-)

Hi Rocar, if you look at the page 90 of the 7m user manual you will find the MIDI code for the performance call.

Also see attachement below for a complete list for each ones. ( sorry the text is in french but I think you'll can figure it out quite easily )

Hope it will help to start what you want.

Hi Quimquim
Thank you so musch for helping me with this - I overlooked that page :-(.

But...I'm fairly new to MIDI - could you help me out regarding the input in SetListMaker? When SetListMaker has the input parameters name for program changes: [Bank MSB], [Bank LSB], [Program] - is that then these fields in the manual page 90 [CC], [CC32],[PC] - so e.g. [Bank MSB] = [CC]?

AH - THANKYOU!!! took a look at your attachment - it sure is so!!!!

BIIIG thank you - I will try it out and hopefully succeed.

Hi Rocar CC00 is for the MSB value CC32 the LSB and PC program change #.

I don't know if in Setlist you have to enter only the value for each or the complete midi command. You also must specify the channel.

In the attachement the commands are written for channel 13 example if you have to change the Control Change (CC) Program Change (PC) let say for channel 1 you'll have to put B0 00 xx B0 20 xx and C0 xx

In the midi code the channel 1= 0 channel 2 =1.... etc.

Take a look at the Midi implementation document for more details.

Have fun

For SetListMaker specific tips (how to input and save MIDI strings to be sent on changing a song, for instance) you might want to query SetListMaker's own forum too... They may have some very useful tips and advice with regard to this particular software.

Quim's advice is good, though.

In fact, this info about remote Performance call-up is in the BK-7m manual only (afaik), so others trying to do this with other BK arrangers need to download the BK-7m manual as well.
