You need specific permission to be a blogger on the website. Please visit the blog section to read more and see how to send a request for a blogger account, if you want to start bloging.

I encourage everyone - if you have something to share - to request for a blogger account! ;)

I'm curious as to what purpose blogging serves that cannot be achieved in the confines of the normal forum?

The idea was to inspire members to write actual articles - not forum posts. However, it does not seem to be that popular a thing to do... :-D

Maybe it's just me, but I like not having to hunt all over the site for what our members have to say. Gathering it all here seems efficient, and garners the attention of the majority of our membership. A post can be any size, from a few words to a full 'article', and the forum form allows easy discussion of the 'blog' (not sure, can any member turn a blog into a discussion in the blog sector?).

I think I rather liked the old forum's approach of taking longer, informative posts (call them 'blogs' if you like!) and cut and pasting them to the 'Tips and Tricks' section. A certain degree of editorship helped it become a treasure trove of easily accessible knowledge, without sifting through dozens of unedited content of mixed value.

But that's just me..! I like my info easy to find!

I agree. I also liked and still like the approach from the old forum. Nevertheless, when releasing the new website I hoped that we would have been able to form a group of "bloggers" being members with the knowledge and capacity to write "tips and tricks" articles. In the old forum I was the sole author of such articles. In the world of reality it turned out that nobody asked for blogger permissions. So the blog section is not developing with new content at the moment. I don't have much time to invest in editorial tasks on the website, so I don't want to create new articles (or blog posts... just a matter of words). However, I can give you blogger permissions, so you can create new articles, whenever there are forum posts, which have to potential to "promote" to articles /blog posts. Do you want me to assign you blogger permissions?

Sure. I have been thinking for a while that a lot of useful BK series stuff is scattered in and amongst the forum posts, and might be useful to collate it and organize some new BK 'Tips and Tricks'....

My season is starting to wind down, I will have a fair bit more time in the near future...
