My understanding is Soundfonts, or any other audio sample regardless of he format, have to be converted for use in the EA-7. It takes some level of expertise to do so. Maybe someone else will chime in with more information.

At this point, AFAIK, there is NO multisample import enabled for the E-A7. It was promised pre-release (SF and earlier Roland Sampler format) but AFAIK, we have been either stiffed (like Roland did with the undelivered sound expansion for the BK-9) or Roland is taking their own sweet time about adding it in an update.

The ONLY multisample import is in Roland's own E-A7 multisample format! In other words, someone has to FIRST laboriously import the sound font individual .wav files one by one, then laboriously hand create the keymaps, then export it as an E-A7 multisample before it can THEN be loaded by another E-A7.

In effect, Roland have effectively isolated their E-A7 users from ANY sample content other than stuff designed specifically for that ONE instrument. Which, of course, is next to nothing.

So, for the want of a nail (SF import, or Akai import, or S700 import etc.) Roland have effectively made sure that a feature they wasted tens of thousands (if not more!) on developing for the E-A7 is completely useless to all but the most determined power users of the E-A7. It's a good job I'm not in charge at Roland... Heads would be rolling! I have never, in 50 years of synth and keyboard playing, ever seen a company so determined to fail.

Shame, Roland, shame...

BTW, rinse and repeat for their multipad feature, as equally divorced from quality content and any trace of factory effort to make it useful to the average user. Where is the SMF import for multipads? Where are the utilities for copying parts of Style Divisions to multipads (like every other bloody arranger has!)?

Honestly, Roland, what's the POINT of features with no content and no import path? Shame on you!

Thank you very much for the answer. I am really upset because of Roland. Thier Keyboards lacks many features. I am really thinking to move to another Brand. They should reconsider things, and calculate things again.

Best Regards,
