Hi all..

This is in reference to the BK7M

I am wondering whether it is possible to force the Intro or Ending to be VARIATION 1 no matter what Variation I am playing in.
The Intros and Endings in VARIATION 2 through 4 are irrelevant for me, as they are not song context specific.
For me I find for dynamics that I progress through the Variations in a song and often times it is neither appropriate or convenient to have to revert to VARIATION 1 before ending the song I am playing to achieve a simplistic ending.

Likewise some times I would prefer to start in VARIATION 2 for rhythm purposes but the INTRO of VARIATION 2 is similarly not song context specific and I would prefer to use the more simplistic Intro of Variation 1. I am saving Performances typically as INTRO and VARIATION 1 presently to achieve the simplistic Intro but as said I in certain circumstances I would like to save the Performance as INTRO and VARIATION 2/3 OR 4.

Whilst I type this I am thinking that a simple 4 rimshot INTRO would be better in a lot of circumstances if anyone knows if that is possible to program as a standard INTRO as well.

Anyway any advice from those who have experience in this area would be greatly appreciated

There are PC# numbers for each of the Style Divisions (in the manual), so if your controller (you don't say what you are using) can send PC#'s from a button, you should be able to setup any Intro or whatever to be triggered by a specific button.

Thanks for the response. I am using a Roland FP 4F piano so I will look into sending the PC# messages from that. Cheers

No, that doesn't have programmable buttons. I thought maybe you had one of the new controller type keyboards.

OK... second attempt.

Do you have an iPad or Surface type tablet? Most of those can be programmed to send MIDI commands from on-screen buttons. It might be possible to set up a screen that had ALL the controls you would tend to use on the one screen....

Thanks for that , I am already using an IPAD for other on stage information and I suspect having to press a button on it and wire it up would be troublesome. I am using a 5 switch pedal for variations and endings connected to the FC7 input but alas there seems there is no option to send PC# messages through the pedal other than the generic "Ending". I guess I am left with pedalling back through Variation 1 at the end of a song. Thanks for your suggestions in any case :)

If you never use Intro 2 3 4, nor End 2 3 4, you could copy Intro 1 to Intro 2 3 4 and do the same with End.

To get from INTRO 1 to any Variation:
press Var 2(3,4) > press Intro > press Var 1. > start playing.

To get from any Var to Ending 1:
while playing, press Ending > press Var 1.
I was angered, for I had no shoes. Then I met a man who had no feet.
