Till now, Roland did not develop any tool for Android Tablets.
I am not aware if someone is developing similar tools for Android.
I wish that this will change...

Maybe some day these kinds of Apps will be available on Android devices. Until then I will use my tablet to display sheet music.

If your android tablet have possibility to hock up OTG usb cable, and run android Os 4.1 (or above) you can use some apps to send midi messages to your keyboard, for example. "Midi Commander" application can be used to send various midi commands, to program some virtual buttons to do something that you need.

I have a new LGpad8.3 (kitkat os), Iwant to use MidiCommander with Acoustica's MixCraft6 for recording and as a wrapper for my VST's including NI B4 organ..In the past I have used a Roland A800pro as a controller, but now use a Roland pc80 (speakers and audio interface, but lacks control sliders , knobs)
I would appreciate guidance on how to hook up..here are what my thoughts are...
I would use an OTG cable from my LG tablet to my Toshiba laptop..running Mixcraft6..
I would via USB connect my PC80 to the Toshiba to another USB port..

MixCraft program has a midi learn feature for all my VST's (worked perfect with the Roland A800pro)..I hope the Midi Commander will work as the A800pro did..and set up controls from the tablet to the laptop..
The PC80 would operate as note on/off controller, for live play of VST's.

Do I have this right..if not please correct me..before I head out for the OTG cable....Thanks

Your LGtablet with MidiCommander send only MIDI Commands to MIDI Device.
Your computer is not a MIDI device !
Try to connect a MIDI interface between your PC and your LGTablette (OTG cable is necessary because you connect your tablet has a HOST device).
MIDI interface must be recognized by MidiCommander. (It Is not the case for all MIDI interfaces ; use only MIDI interface without drivers because drivers cannot be installed on Android Tablet). Be carrefull, I think that MidiCommander doesn't recognize all MIDI interface ...
MIDI interface is recognize by your computer by MixCraft and you can receive MIDI DATA from MIDICommander..
Your Keyboard PC80 opérate as a "MIDI input" to your PC (use PC80 MIDI OUT with by example EDIROL PC-80 to connect to your PC).

I hope it helps you.

Good to see you back, Fran...

Had a chance to audition the BK-9 yet? Trust me, the Hammond sim in the BK-9 gives NI's B4 a real run for its money, and might save you having to run it in a wrapper on your laptop!

Please join me in putting pressure on Roland to add a Link between .JPG files and the Performance in the BK-9. Basically, at the moment, the BK-9 will display a .JPG file on the attached monitor, will even do a rudimentary slideshow, but it's not linked to the Performance in any way. There's plenty of software out there to convert .PDF's and other graphic formats into .JPG's, so, a .JPG can be a sheet music scan, lyric sheet, sequence notes, anything you need...

Just think... no laptop need at all! MP3/WAV/AIFF playback, and a built-in sheet music display to a very inexpensive small LCD monitor (some small monitors come in under $100, a boatload less expensive than most laptops!) you can rest on the music stand...

But without the Link to the Performance to load it automatically, it is of little value live. The simplest of OS changes (BK-9 already does Links between .MP3's and .WAV"s of backing tracks, and Sets of up to 7 audio loops for the Key Audio feature, plus the MIDI SET of your choice, so Roland know how to do this easily enough) would add a per Performance (BK-speak for a UPG) sheet music display, which is something even the T5 and PA3xpro don't do simply..!

TBH, the E80 also had this rudimentary graphic display capability (sadly, not the G70, though), I am surprised the E80 community didn't scream bloody murder to get this simple addition to the OS..! It is definitely frustrating to see all the pieces in place for some very advanced capabilities, and the simple lack of a Performance Link render it virtually useless.

Contact Roland directly, and try to pressure them into this. It will help turn the BK-9 into something that can lord it over other much more expensive arrangers!

Marko, thanks for the info..I need some clarification. :) I now understand the Laptop is not a midi device..I have a midiman midisport 2x2 usb interface..that is 2 midi ins and 2 midi outs, with a single usb out (to the PC). Would I need to use another midi interface with the midisport? The path being from the LG tablet otg cable into an M-audio uno (example)USB....midi from uno to midi in of the midisport, and from midisport usb to the laptop.

If I use the PC80 as my midi interface.... would I have to use an USB hub? Or use a similar set up with 2 midi interfaces..I am confused here
Thanks for your help..

PS: it is starting to look like an idea not worth the trouble..Since the laptop is in front of me , I can change things with the touch pad.. :)

I think that your path : LG tablet OTG cable to USB M-audio Uno doesn't work ....
I give you an alternative that works for me.. My suggestion is quite simple !
Device:
- a MIDI Merger in order to Merge MIDI Keyboard and MIDI tablet messages. .
- an Audio External Device with MIDI and USB (USB connect to your PC
The path is :
- Tablet (OTG/USB) --- USB/MIDI interface --- Merger --- Audio Ext with MIDI --- (USB) PC
- Keyboard (MIDI OUT) ---- Merger --- Audio Ext with MIDI --- (USB) PC
