Hi!

Does anybody know how/where can I found the E-50 USB Driver for MacOS Sierra (10.12.)... 'cause Roland Corp. doesn't support 'too old' devices naturally...?

I haven't any idea how the MacOS is handling legacy products / drivers, but
the only one I could find is for OS X 10.9, did you try that one?

Thanks for your hint... but that doesn’t work - I checked it!
And I tried also the newer, BK-5 USB Driver - but the same answer... not work.
I hope that I’ll find some programmer guru which should made that...

Do you have a MIDI interface? If Roland are done updating a decade old product's drivers, you can always still use a simple MIDI interface instead...

E-50 was a 2005 launch, yes?

Hello, Willem52!

YES... your first link works! Thank You very much...! :D

I found already previously USB Drivers 1.010 and 1.012... but specifically NOT that 1.011 which isone and only right, which works!

I don't wanna change my E-50 to anything else, 'cause E-50 has every features what I need (very good quality sounds, well-working rhythm styles, very versatile MIDI features, possibility to create my own rhythm styles exactly for Finnish National music style.
In addition I've a little bit modified my E-50:

- there is mystical 'red button' in front panel... for 'rit. (=ritardando) or 'acc. (=accelerando) [subject to 'Foot Controllers' Settings]
- I've installed The AC/DC Adaptor to inside, so I've exclude the Adaptor input terminal (w/ hot glue)
- there is '0/1 Switch' for simply 'Internal Speakers ON/OFF´ function - 'cause I am afraid of stick out plug in PHONES -terminal.

I'm sorry about my English - please try to understand me...!

Would it be nice if this museum printed a vivid magazine with samples of its products and an indication of the year of release?

Hi, Diki!

Of course I have the external MIDI Interface... actually, I have the two diffrent very OLD model (M-AUDIO Uno 1x1 & ROLAND UM-1x1) which in any case works well in Mac OS Sierra (10.12).

But... as I told, I found that E-50 USB Driver for Mac OS Sierra (10.12) with Willem52 friendly help - that idea of USB Driver -use is so much easier way to use... less the cables! :)

Nice mods!

It is good to know an unsupported driver at least works...

I am curious about your F/S to front panel switch mod. Was it difficult to do?

I am wondering if the same sort of thing could be done IN REVERSE to an E-A7? The E-A7 has no FC-7 input, but curiously enough, lo and behold! There are seven (coincidence? Not likely!) Assign Switches by the bend lever (BK-9, with an FC-7 input, has only 4) and p.21-22 of the Reference manual details a HUGE list of parameters these can control (more even than the BK-9's FC-7 choices). We arranger players are pretty busy playing the chords AND the RH stuff (especially as there is no Chord Sequencer to take over for you), and I really like the ability to change Variations, change Bass/INV, toggle Leslie's etc. using my feet.

How big of a task (given your experience of taking a F/S input and wiring it to a front panel button) do you think it would take to jump/wire these Assign SW's to an FC-7 DIN socket on the rear panel? Be nice to have BOTH active, too!
