Is there any way to add custom drumKits to the G70.. I don't have an expansion card.. By the way I don't see all oriental or ethinic drum kits on the menu pages... I have browsed the net for help with Roland.. The best forum is this.. Thank you for much great work and help.. Special thanks to Loshk

If you want custom drums, you are either going to need a BK-9 (which can create custom kits from ROM sounds) or an E-A7, which has a barebones sampler.

However, the entire BK/EA series can address multiple drum kits at the same time in style and SMF mode, so if it is a case of needing sounds from two different kits, as long as you have Parts to spare, you don’t need custom kits. Not to mention that the BK series have a lot more percussion sounds than the G70.

But the G70 can’t really do this. You can add SRX cards with other kits, but you can’t create custom ones.

Sorry.

The EA7 has a huge collection of ethnic kits, percussion and ethnic sounds, and compares sonically quite well with a G70, if your need for them is important. Obviously, it has only a 61 keybed and a cheaper construction etc., but if you’re into ethnic stuff, it’s the best choice.

If in good condition, you can possibly trade straight for an EA7...
